Jujube
Ziziphus jujuba
It is a small prickly deciduous tree or shrub reaching a height of 5-10 metres with thick bark. The leaves are simple, elliptical, short-petiolate, entire. The flowers are small, greenish-white. The flowering and fruiting period from June to October. Fruits are round or ovoid, fleshy, smooth. At first they are pale yellow, then red-brown.
Undemanding to soils. Drought tolerant. It is frost-hardy.
