Slow-growing coniferous shrub with a rounded crown. The height reaches 1.5-2 m. In 10 years -1.2 m. The needles are bright green, 3-5 cm long. Young shoots have light tips. Cones are small, round, dark brown.

Full sun lover. It grows well on sandy soils. Mountain pines grow in all moderately dry or moist, even nutrient-poor soils, from acidic to alkaline, preferring slightly acidic soils. It is frost-resistant.
