Vanderwolf's Pyramid Limber Pine is decorative, evergreen coniferous tree with a dense pyramidal crown. It grows quite quickly. The plant can reach up to 5 m in height and up to 3 m in width. The apical buds are resinous, pointed, and red-brown. The needles are long, soft, have a bright blue-green tint, twisted around a branch. Cones are on short petioles, up to 8 cm long, brown.
A full sun lover. In the shade it grows poorly. It prefers moderately moist and well-drained soils. It is sensitive to soil compaction. Drought resistant. Frost hardy.
