Thunderhead Japanese Black Pine is an evergreen coniferous tree up to 2 m in height and about 2 m in width.
The crown is broad, often irregular in shape. Slow growing tree. The needles are dark green color, which contrasts beautifully with large white buds. The needles are medium length but very dense, which give the plant a fluffy appearance. The pinecones are the egg-shaped.
A full sun lover, but can grow in partial shade. It is undemanding to the soil. Humidity tolerant. It is recommended for the planting in the places protected from wind and draft. Frost-hardy.
