Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Teddy Bear’
Hinoki Cypress is a medium-sized, wide-spreading, evergreen, broad-conical shrub or tree. The height reaches up to 2-3 m. Grows no more than 0.5 m in 10 years. The crown is asymmetrical. The shoots are upright, prickly, giving the bush a soft fluffy silhouette. The ends are slightly hanging. The bark is smooth, reddish-brown. The needles are scaly, small, rounded, tightly compressed. Hinoki Cypress has small spherical cones.
Full sun lover. Humidity tolerant. Prefers drained, fertile, acidic soil. Easily tolerates drought, cold, heat, and wind. Frost-Hardy.
