Nana Black Pine
Pinus nigra 'Nana'
Dwarf pine with a wide pyramidal, oval, dense crown. The height of an adult plant is 3 m. Slow growing. Annual growth is 10 cm. Shoots are short, growing upwards. The needles are long, dark green, up to 10 cm. The cones are yellow-brown. They stand out the background of dark needles.
It is undemanding to soils. Prefers soils with a high content of lime, from slightly acidic to alkaline. It grows well on any, even acidic, well-drained soils. Frost-hardy.
