Wiethorst Schwerin’s Pine
Pinus schwerinii ՛Wiethorst՛
Dwarf pine of symmetrical pyramidal shape. This pine is a hybrid of Himalayan and White Pines. Slow growing. In 10 years the height of a pine is 80 cm, the width is 50 cm. The crown is dense. Foliage are beautiful, fluffy, always hanging, 10-12 cm long, from silver-blue to bluish-green. The tree has fruits even at a young age. Size of cones are different, about 15 cm. They can be 20 cm in favorable conditions. At first the cones are green. They become brown-gray over time.
Full sun lover. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Frost-hardy.
