Edel Weymouth Pine
Pinus strobus 'Edel'
A fast growing tree with a pyramidal crown. The trunk of young tree is smooth, shiny, gray-green, but the old tree has lamellar trunk with dark bark. The foliage have needle-shaped, dark green or bluish-green leaves. Cones are narrow-cylindrical, 10-15 cm long, symmetrical, light brown with a purple or gray tint.
Full sun lover, but shade tolerant. It is undemanding to soil. It grows on any well-drained soil, from acidic to alkaline, except for saline ones. It does not tolerate drought and stagnation of water. Frost-hardy.
