Persian Silk Tree
Albizia julibrissin 'Rouge de tuiliere'
Persian Silk Tree is a large shrub, quite fast-growing, deciduous, with delicate foliage in summer and a spreading, umbrella-like shape. The leaves are heavily divided into leaflets, and look quite fern-like, turning to purplish-red in autumn. It blooms from June to August, the fruits ripen from October to November. Fluffy, bright red flowers can be born in summer in milder areas. Silk Tree Rouge de Tuiliere is not for areas with harsh frosts.
Need a sheltered position from cold winds, and will stand slightly colder sites if the summer growth is sufficiently ripened. Any light. Full sun lover.
