Pacific Sunset Norway Maple
Acer platanoides ‘Pacific Sunset’
Pacific Sunset Maple grows up to 8-10 m in height and 5-7 m in width. The tree has gray-brown bark with light grooves. Glossy leaves are thick and leathery, and evaporate water more slowly, so the tree does not suffer from drought and radiation. The leaves turn a beautiful orange color, turn green in summer, and in autumn the maple surprises with its delightful yellow-orange and orange-red foliage. Blooms in April with showy clusters of yellow-green flowers. They attract many bees and butterflies. After flowering, catchy brown-green lionfish fruits appear on the tree.
Resistant to wind, heat, drought and air pollution. It is not demanding on the soil, but it grows and blooms best in a sunny place.
