Weigela "Bristol Ruby"
Weigela florida "Bristol Ruby"
New'Bristol Ruby' weigela has medium green leaves topped with deep red, funnel-shaped flowers in summer. It is perfect for growing in mixed borders and its flowers are attractive to bees.
It is recommended to grow this species in moist but well-drained soil in sun to partial shade. For pruning, shoots should be cut to a pair of strong buds just after they bloom. Once the plant is established, it's a good idea to cut back about a quarter of the older stems to ground level each year to encourage new growth.
