Skimmia japonica ‘Pink dwarf’
Colourful, adaptable and easy to grow, this handsome shrub offers year-round interest with its lustrous foliage. The clusters of pink buds, which appear in autumn before opening in spring to blush-white flowers, adds to its appeal. It's equally happy in pots or borders - provided it is not sun-baked, and gets a reasonable amount of food and water. It has a medium growth rate, the flowering period is April and May, it likes moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soils, it is a fully resistant plant. If necessary, it can be pruned lightly after flowering. Very good rotten fertilizer can be added when planting to improve soil moisture quality.
